Fourth Class have been learning all about the polar regions this month and we have been engaging in many varied activities based on this topic. In literacy we have been writing descriptive narrative pieces set in these cold places, and in SESE we have been learning all about Norway, we have been researching our own polar animals and have been creating fact files and reports about them, and we have been learning all about the famous Irish explorer Tom Crean, who made it all the way to the Antarctic on an expedition in the early 1900s. We have been using IPads to research and record our polar animals facts and have been learning how to navigate a new app ‘Book Creator’, which is giving us another platform upon which to create our literacy and SESE pieces. In art we have also been exploring the arctic/ antarctic theme, with our wonderful Northern Lights chalk pastel creations. Our finished artwork will be on display next week!
