Goatstown ETNS strives to make children confident and creative builders of their own futures. We are committed to providing learning experiences that will assist our students to achieve their greatest potential to adapt and adjust to a diverse and ever changing world. Second Class is the fourth year in primary school. Children in second class are aged 7-8 years old.  Second class is the second year of a full school day for the children he children partake in 12 subject areas. The children learn in a thematic approach. Children partake in the 3 core subjects every day.

First class is the third year in primary school. Children in first class are aged 6-7 years old. First class is the first year of a full school day for the children (08:30 – 14:10.) In first class, the children partake in 12 subject areas. The children learn in a thematic approach. Children partake in the 3 core subjects every day.

Senior Infants is the second year in primary school. Children in Senior Infants are aged 5-6 years old. Infant classes have a shorter day than the rest of the school (08:30 – 13:10). They cover the 12 curriculum subjects with the inclusion of Aistear which is an integrated learning programme through play. Each month the children engage in the study of a specific theme and this is integrated across the other curriculum subjects. Children partake in the 3 core subjects every day.

Junior Infants is the first year in primary school. Children in Junior Infants are aged 4-5 years old. In Junior Infants, the children are in school for a shorter day than the senior classes (08:30 – 13:10). The children partake in 12 subject areas and learn in a thematic approach.
