Junior Infants walked up to Woodies to see a real garden centre as part of our them on plants. They loved learning about different things you might find or use in the garden.
The children had lots of extra practice following classroom instructions and learning school related vocabulary in Irish. They learned and performed some fantastic poems, songs and dances and enjoyed listening to Irish music
We divided the class into three colour groups and took turns making music using pitched and unpitched instruments – paper & pencils, cardboard cones and Boomwhackers.
We had so much fun dressing up as favourite book characters, sharing our favourite stories from home and having parents visit to read to us!
We have been doing Literacy stations twice a week. We rotate around 5 em_event per session focusing on handwriting & fine motor skills, new reading, familiar reading, phonics and blending and sight words.

We had a really fun week applying maths to all areas of our play and learning. We particularly enjoyed when 1st class came to play games with us that they had created!
